04/02: Second Life
I just realized that Second Life is an appropriate name for we Pointies to meet again. ;-)
Jeff and I were chatting there last night. Jeff discovered a nice world. It was pretty cool with great music. The world is called "NCI Kuula" and it's for n00bs. You can just type that into the browser and you can select it - just like in Google Chrome.
Jeff's handle is Mopar70. Mine is WildBill Hiccup. Justen's is Justen Cassidy.
SL's interface is fragmented at best and cryptic at worst. To search for anyplace or anyone, click World > Search. If you go in and find that it's acceptable, search for us and Friend us please. We can hopefully help each other figure this thing out.
My vote is for SL because it's the most likely to survive the 3D chat wars.
03/02: How are you all?
Got a day off here in New Jersey. I received a message from one "Alic White" in Second Life. He's in "THE Blaxxun Vr Team" group there. I'm going to try to find out which world they occupy and try to arrange a mini-pilein for those interested.
Still a mild winter here on the east coast. Puxatawney Phil didn't see his shadow this year, so we are in for another 6 weeks of this winter weather. Big deal! Winter hasn't even arrived yet! I'll take it , Phil.
Can anyone remember a year when that fat rodent *didn't* see his shadow?

As as aside, I actually remembered my ICQ UIN. Alzheimers be damned! I'm hooked in!
It's been a real pleasure gathering this list. I feel bad about dropping off back in '97 and '98. I was working second shift the entire time and I was dealing with depression then as well. Please accept my apologies, my friends. I hope that this in some way atones for my sins. I love you all, Pointworlders!

30/01: Second Life, What's your handle?
Mine is Justen Cassidy.
There are other worlds too that are less intense CPU-wise. SecondLife just offers a lot and anyone can build on the spot (that they rent) from within the browser.
There.com is easier on the CPU , has way better transportation like buggies and hoverbikes and game structure is more defined but building from scratch is difficult and graphics are not as good. It also is a mandatory fee where 2ndLife is free to walk around in.
I have been to others as well but those are the biggies.
Sorry I am a little scarce this week. As I mentioned we are rebuilding our home office and it's kinda got us consumed.

27/01: List of the Olde Ones
